Since its establishment in 2016, TheCube Project Space’s The Praxis School has organized annual lecture series dedicated to creating platforms for in-depth discussions on art, culture, and social issues. Over recent years, the series has explored histories of technology and human-object relationships, culminating in the exhibition Madeleine Moment: The Technology of Memory and Sentiment in 2023. In 2025, amidst an era characterized by daily shocks and transformations, Praxis School shifts its focus towards historical inquiry. The first three lectures, organized in collaboration with theater critic Wu Sih-Fong, will feature a lecture series titled "A Topology at the End of History," delivered by scholar and art critic Kuo Liang-Ting.

Stranger Next Door Lecture Series in the summer of 2024 starts from reflections on Grilling Borders. TheCube invites 3 groups of researchers, writers, and artists from Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan to deliver 3 lectures from the perspectives of literature, visuals, history, society, and politics. A multi-dimensional discussion on ethnic and national borders will take place at TheCube on 3 consecutive Saturday from 29th June. The word "Stranger" in the original Greek text refers to "the people outside the fence, that is, the alien people." Stranger Next Door Lecture Series originated from some thoughts on Taiwan's southward policy.

Curatography Issue 11 "Ethics of Flourishing Onto-Epistemologies” focuses on exploring the prospective intricacies of a pluriversal onto-epistemological ecosystem from a curatorial perspective. "Constellation Assembly" initiative endeavors to cultivate interconnections among curators, artists, and diverse participants through dialogues and negotiations. Analogous to the assembly of celestial bodies forming constellations, this conceptualization posits the establishment of gatherings to construct flourishing onto-epistemologies, which are necessarily reconfigured from friendships among people and the exchange of dialogues between diverse perspectives.

In the post-epidemic era, international exchange activities in the contemporary art field have gradually increased, and both Taiwan and foreign institutions are launching residency programs and holding international forums. Yu-Lun (Fiona) Hsu, a student of CCSCA, was selected to participate in the ‘Curatorial Intensive Indonesia 2024’ held by Independent Curators International (ICI) and took a 10-day intensive training in Yogyakarta and Bali. This year, the Asia Society Switzerland collaborated with TheCube Project Space to assist Giada Olivotto, an independent curator from Switzerland, who was selected for Curator Residency, to conduct a two-month in-depth research trip in Taipei.

The German curator and writer Anselm Franke, who curated the 2012 Taipei Biennale, and the Korean-born Danish artist Jane Jin Kaisen were invited by The Hong-gah Museum to work on field research for the 2023 Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition in late August.

The Praxis School is a series of themed lecture programs curated on an annual basis at the TheCube Project Space which began in 2016.Continuing in the focus on modern living and technology, the theme of the Praxis School for 2022will revolve around discussions of collective sentiments and memories.

The “2021 Praxis School—Tiangong Kaiwu III: Medication and Pandemic, Materiality and Spirituality” seeks to explore the historical relations between humankind and objects as well as between life and technology.

The main theme of the 2020 Praxis School, Immortal Body, is divided into several subthemes that touch upon the concepts of life sustaining wizardry, digital replacement, cyborg, and so forth, through which the 2020 Praxis School attempts to explore the views of life in different societies and knowledge systems as well as in different stages of technological development.

The Praxis School is a thematic lecture/workshop series initiated by TheCube Project Space in 2016 and held on an annual basis thenceforth. “Tiangong Kaiwu: Modern Life and the History of Technology” was the theme that ran through the 2018 Praxis School, with special foci on modern life’s relations to the history of technology, the history of science, and contemporary art, as well as on their complex interplay.

Tiɑngong Kɑiwu (The Exploitation of the Works of Nature): Modern Life and the History of Technology is the theme that runs through the 2018 Praxis School Lecture Series, with special foci on the relations between humanity and objects as well as their history, and the best way for us to react accordingly.

TheCube Project Space is honored to present the symposium Reality in its Double Bind: Emotional Signifiers in the Undercurrents of History in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Curated by Hsu Fang-Tze, this three-day symposium marks the second phase of the curatorial project Towards Mysterious Realities, launched in Taipei, 2016.

The 2017 Praxis School invites four social practitioners/cultural researchers to serve as the lecturers in three thematic sessions. Po-Wei Chen, the founding leader of the former Black Hand Nakasi – Workers’ Band, leads the first session Body, Space and Memory (incl. three workshops), followed by The Historical Context in the Cold-War Structure (incl. three lectures) that small-theater director and cultural critic Mo-Lin Wang curated as the second. Organized by cultural researcher Sun-Quan Huang and Internet activist Shih-Chieh Ilya Li, the third session Network and Society (incl. six lectures/workshops) is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2017.

Praxis School is the thematic lecture series to be hosted by TheCube Project Space in 2016. The first series will be delivered by Huang Sun-Quan, a renowned social activist and cultural researcher, with “Multitude: Till We Have Faces!” as the theme that runs through this series.

Bani Haykal, one of the thirteen participant artists of the exhibition Towards Mysterious Realities (organized by TheCube and TKG Foundation for Arts and Culture), is currently having his 3-week residency in Taipei. On 3rd of December, his workshop Artificial (sonic) Sweeteners (or how much calories we have stuffed into our subconscious so far) will be held at TheCube Project Space from 7 to 9:30pm, a group of 25 people will be invited to join in.

For this lecture series, four panels of speakers have been invited to open up discussions on the significance and applications of “archives” in contemporary art production: I. How and why do artists utilize archives; II. Archives and thought patterns; III. Archives and Freedom of Speech; IV. Fieldwork, documentation, and archive.Through these themes and cross-sections of archives and its relevance in contemporary art explored in these four lectures, we hope to illustrate the complex relationship of archives with concepts, actions, and applications; as well as to raise follow-on questions worthy of attention and exploration in the “archive frenzy” of the current artistic environment.
